I have been working for more than a year in Malaysia Airport. The most frequent question travellers constantly asking is “how to go from klia to klia terminal 2?”. Here are several option with pros and cons:
Shuttle Bus
There are two type of shuttle : Mitsui shuttle bus and KLIA LTCP Bus
The Mitsui bus (orange colour bus) operates for limited time but free-of charge incase you miss the KLIA LTCP Bus (Dark blue colour bus).
Pros :
– available 24/7 (except Mitsui because they operate according to Mitsui Mall)
-Free of charge
Cons :
– inconsistent time but can be waiting difference from 10- 30 minutes.
– the waiting bench can be slightly uncomfortable.
-the station can be confusing sometimes (especially KLIA 2)
-Always alert the stop station ( you wouldn’t want to miss the station)

How to get a ride :
If you travel from overseas, the arrival will be at level 3.
Exit the Arrival–> Ride the nearest DARK BLUE LIFT–> Press Level 1–>Exit the airport and find big sign DOOR 4–> Go to the waiting area (opposite from the door).
Tips: If you miss the time and its between 11 A.M until 9 PM. Go ahead and ride the orange bus written MITSUI it does stop at KLIA 2 and KLIA 1 vice versa.
Express Railway Link (ERL)
Pros :
– Has consistent schedule
– more seamless travel experience (stroller-friendly)
-directly arrive inside the terminal so you didn’t have to do walking much to departure.
-fastest way to travel to KLIA 2.

Cons:
– you paid (cost RM 2/PAX for ONE WAY)
-Recommended to download KLIA EKSPRES APP for schedule
– can be extremely crowded
– Limited time (5.30 a.m until 1.37 a.m)
How to get the ride:
The arrival in Terminal 1 is located at LEVEL 3.
Exit the ARRIVAL–> Ride the nearest PURPLE LIFT–>Press LEVEL 1–> You have arrived at the ERL Station. There is a counter at the station or you can also buy the ticket at the INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL (near the baggage area). There is a purple stand there.
Tips: Download the KLIA EKSPRES app, book from the app and get discount. You also can check the schedule from the app for better planning. Also you can also directly use your card (only individual) but slightly higher price. P/S: In case you missed the TRANSIT ERL to KLIA 2 or KLIA 1 you can also go for ERL EKSPRES. Only between KLIA 1 and KLIA 2.
